About Kate
Kate has a diverse academic and professional background, which has come in handy while she travels the planet. Currently, she is a freelance user interface designer for the iPhone, as well as an occasional Facebook developer, graphic designer, and tech writer.
She recently attained her Master’s degree in Library and Information Science, with an emphasis on federal and digital librarianship. Her career goals are fairly flexible, but she hopes to work as either a government librarian, or as a digital archives specialist in the private sector. In a past life she earned her BSEd in Speech and Theater Education from Missouri State University, and for a short time coached speech and debate in Missouri. A devoted Mac user since 2003, Kate has also been a Specialist and mobile device Genius for Apple Retail, and fantasizes about someday joining the Apple Consultants Network.
A husband and dog join Kate in her adventures. In her copious amounts of spare time, she crochets, blogs about music, and works on cheesy romance novels in the hopes that one of these will make her rich and famous.
